School’s out: February fun!


See the top 5 things to do this half term!

Half term starts this Friday (9 Feb) and we've picked 5 fun activities that are just a bus ride away. Our group ticket is only £6 from Friday 9 February until Monday 19 February  and gives all day travel to up to four people (any combination of adults and children) within the simplyReading area. If you're planning on going further afield, our simplyNetwork group ticket is just £10 and gives you travel on all Reading Buses services (including Thames Valley Buses and Green Line 702 to Langley, excludes Kennections – simplyNetwork group ticket normally £15 Monday to Friday before 9.30am).

LEGO® build a bus event at Broad Street Mall

When: 14, 15, 16 February 2018. Each day will have 4 x 45 minute sessions for you to choose from: 10.00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm.
 
What: FREE event – build your very own purple 17 bus to take away with you.

Get me there: Catch your usual bus into the town centre with many buses dropping off outside Broad Street Mall. Find your route

The Museum of English rural life

When: 8 – 18 February 2018

What: Visit new galleries, enjoy new trails and interactive games!

Get me there: From Reading town centre, hop on the claret 21 (towards Lower Earley) to Crown Place Passage. From there, it’s a four minute walk to the Museum. 

Or, catch the Leopard 3 to Redlane Court with a four minute walk to the venue. See google map reference.

Holiday fun at Reading museum

When: 12 February – 17 February 2018

What: Medieval activities, gallery trails, peak at the Abbey Ruins and loads more!

Get me there: Get your usual bus into town with a short walk to the Museum (head to Blagrave Street near Reading train station). Find your route

Fenwick holiday fun at The Lexicon

When: 10 February – 17 February 2018

What: Visit Fenwick Bracknell at The Lexicon for a huge range of free children’s activities

Get me there: Get on the Lion X4 to Bracknell Bus station. Or, grab the Leopard 3b to Bracknell Bus Station. It’s only a few minutes’ walk to The Lexicon. 

Siren Craft Brewery (one for the grown ups!)

When: Anytime you want a break… and a beer!

What: Their brand new tasting room bar has a range of amazing beers, plus wines and spirits – and they are family and dog friendly! The tasting room opens every Friday 12-8pm and every Saturday 12-9pm. Or why not book onto one of their brewery tours

Get me there: Grab the Leopard 3 to Hogwood Lane with a five minute walk to the brewery. Enjoy!
