Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2017

The Reading Beer and Cider Festival is one of the highlights of the year for many residents and visitors alike and continues to go from strength to strength. This year it is coming back to Christchurch Meadows just outside Central Reading.

Ale and food - the main attraction

The Beer Festival will boast 550+ Real Ales from around the British Isles, including plenty of local options. There'll also be a plethora of ciders, meads and foreign beers to sample too! The ale is sold in thirds, halves and pints so it's easy to drink sensibly, but still sample beers from all over the UK. There's also a huge array of food on offer, whether cheese boards from the Grumpy Goat or a good old-fashioned hog roast, there's sure to be something to make everyone's mouth water.

be sensible and use the bus

The Beer Festival is located in Christchurch Meadows, just by Reading Bridge in the town centre, so it's incredibly easy to get there by bus. All of our buses run to the centre of town, and drop off within a 15 minute walk of the site. Don't fancy the walk? Use pink 23 and 25 from Friar Street or Forbury Road and get off at the Hills Meadow stop instead!
If you are going with friends, why not buy a simplyReading group ticket (just £6 on Saturday and Sunday, £9 on Thursday and Friday) and you can hop on and off as many buses as you like, saving your legs on the way home!

entertainment

It's not just about the beer though! Every year, the Beer Festival lays on some quality entertainment each day.
On Thursday, you can take part in the fantastic (and giant) pub quiz and win some great prizes.
On Friday and Saturday, there's the chance to listen to live music from a selection of local bands as well as acts from further afield.
And every day sees pub games galore to win various prizes and have a good old-fashioned knees up!

If you live outside Reading, trains can get you to Reading Station and buses to the festival are just a short walk away.
